Does anyone have any experience with a monitor calibration kit?

I got a new laptop, a MacBook Pro, and I notice the colors are different than on my old laptop. I checked some pictures on a third monitor and noticed differences there too.

So I’d like to calibrate my monitor to assure that I am seeing true colors. I’ve seen some kits but I’m not sure how they work or what all is involved.

Does anyone have any advice?

  1. get the old and new screens/computers side by side, in a dark room with only the screens as your light sources, load the same image up on both screens then calibrate the new one to the first one (by eye) – - – or open the same webpage on bith machines then match them

never used any products to do calibrating, have a crt and lcd display (the crt is far better for proofing)

  2. Download a monitor correction software or gamma correction software and run it.
