Can someone help me on monitor calibration?

I just recently calibrated my monitor, and found out one of my previous graphic design had ugly stripes going out from the center on the background. Before the monitor was calibrated, I remember the background being pure black. Can someone with a professionally calibrated monitor help determine if my monitor needs adjusting? Photos in Photoshop are too red..monitor calibration necessary?

I’m editing photos from my wedding and all of them have more of a red tint to them then I would like. They were not shot with a warm filter, and were done by a pro.
I’m not sure if I need monitor calibration because the photos look fine in the thumbnail preview, but as soon as I get them into photoshop, it appears all of them need less red.
This is causing my prints to come out wrong..any advice?

How to Calibrate ACER Aspire 6920 LCD Screen Panel Monitors
Whether you’re using a laptop with a built-in monitor, a PC with an external monitor, or a laptop with an external monitor, your LCD display will need calibration. Calibration optimizes the picture quality of your display, adjusting your settings so they’re ideal for the capabilities of your hardware. Calibrating your PC’s LCD display is easy to do, it only takes a few minutes, and it requires hardly preparation at all.Laptop accessories(Laptop accessories)

Read your monitor’s user manual beforehand to understand the capabilities of your LCD display. Before you calibrate, you want your monitor set to the default settings, since most of the calibration is done using your PC.

Power on your PC and monitor and make sure they’re properly connected. When Windows boots up, you can begin calibration.Laptop LCD Screen(LCD Screen )

Access the display options menu by clicking the Start button on the taskbar and going to the Control Panel. Type “color calibration” in the search bar and press Enter to go directly to the color calibration Wizard, or type “display” to go to the general display options. You can access the color calibration Wizard from the Display menu.

Click “Change display settings” to adjust your screen’s resolution (the higher, the better). Optimize the color scheme and refresh rate by clicking “Advanced settings” on the same menu, going to the Monitor tab, and changing them to the highest setting.ACER Aspire 6920 LCD Screen

Click the Color Management tab and select “Color Management…” to bring up the Color Management menu. Click the Advanced tab and then click “Calibrate Display” to start the color calibration Wizard. You can also access this option from the Display menu.
